Officers' Training Camp 2009

Hi once again,

here is the information you would need for this year's Officers' Training Camp.

There will be 4 groups for this camp.
Each group will be in charge of planning three 1-hour activities for the camp itself based on the theme of 《当你孤单你会想起谁？》
-- 1 神修 program; 1 康乐 program; 1 实习 program
区团职员must be informed of all meeting dates of each group so that we can sit-in during your meetings where necessary to provide you with guidance.
Deadlines for program reports are as follows:

- 24 January 2009: 1st draft of all reports out.
(This means the main idea and concept ought to be planned already... the skeleton of the program)

- 8 February 2009: All 3 programs to have full reports out.
(All details should be in the reports, ready for vetting)

- 21 February 2009: Final report for all 3 programs must be out.
( The reports ought to be ready for execution, and is what will be carried out during the camp itself.)
The programs will be compiled and rearranged by the 区团职员to fit a timetable. Hence, the camp would indirectly be conducted by yourselves through your own programs, allowing you to learn from each other's strengths and weaknesses.
All groups must produce an Item List for all Logistics Items required for each program. Each group will then send one representative to purchase the items required for the camp with the 区团职员。
Groupings for the camp are as follows. Your group leader (shown in bold) would be given the contact list to contact each of you, as well as the program report template for you to fill in.

Hi all,

the lag in information ought not to be forgiven, but currently, there's too many things going on that has caused all your officers to neglect this blog. Much as Pet would love to post the pics of JXY (which is a massive amount btw!) and those of Christmas party, but she's weighed down by many other commitments. Should you need the photos, please do inform any of us, and we will try to get them to you asap.

Hi all. sorry for the lag in updating information. Those of you who are aware of why this is so, I guess you can forgive me right? =)

Anywayz, we do hope that many of you who attended the Curia Retreat gained something despite the short programme, be it new songs, or even a piritual gain.....

It was heartening to see the rise in attendance at Curia yesterday, and we sure hope to see it continue in the months to come.

Applicants for JXY YGZ 2008

Dear All,

we have taken much time to go through all of the application forms for this year's YGZ.

It is very heartening to see that so many of you want to take on this challenge. We very much wish that we could take all of you under our wings, yet we want to ensure that those who are taking on this role would be able to gain the most from every single one of the experienced YGZ, and to maximise your learning experience. As such, it pained us to have to reject quite a large number of applicants.

Those who have applied, please check your email to see if you have been shortlisted.

If you have, congratulations. Please turn up for the interview punctually as latecoming is not tolerated.

If you have not, please do not be disappointed. Take this as an experience, and watch and learn from this year's camp. There is no stopping you from trying again next year. The road ahead of you is still long, and many of your current experienced YGZ did not begin their journey until they were past 18. So take this in your stride. There will be far more chances for you. Though you may not have gotten this role, yet, we have discussed how best to maximise your talent through our other upcoming activities so that you can gain valuable experience. All this will be told to you at a later date.

We hope that all of you understand why we put this year's YGZ to the test.

It is to thoroughly ensure that all of you are given fair chance, as well as to ensure that this year's YGZ will be able to face up to the challenge put ahead of them.

This year's JXY will be very much different from any other thus far, and we will be working with a very small number of YGZ. It will be far more challenging and more tiring for both YGZ and campers alike, whether physically, mentally or spiritually.

Information with regard to the upcoming activities will be updated on this blog as regularly as possible, so continue checking for updates.

The retreat to be held on August 3rd will be a very important 'pre-activity' to this year's JXY, so we hope that all of you can turn up, in order to prepare yourselves spiritually for the camp.

All officers, please remember that the bi-annual evaluation meeting will be held after July's Curia, so please have your evaluation within your Presidiums before then, and turn up for Curia.

It seems everyone had a great day, and there were a couple of new faces. Thanks to Simon who brought them, sure hope that they had fun too.

Important Info to all Applicants for JXY YGZ 2008

Dear all,

we've noticed that there may have been some form of miscommunication to the instructions provided.

So please take note of the following as you attempt to complete the application form in time for its deadline.

1. ALL questions MUST be attempted. This is especially so for Question 6b. All parts MUST be completed irregardless of which group you chose in Question 6a. Hence, 3 reports, one for each part, (i), (ii) and (iii) MUST be completed. The report provided in Annex A is merely a template. Therefore, use it as a template to write your report for the Kang Le, Shen Xiu and Shi Xi programs!

2. The deadline is 0000hrs, 16th June 2008. Our last checking for the application forms will be at 0001hrs. Anything received after that time will NOT be accepted.

We are aware at how tough this application form is. That is its sole purpose. To sieve out those who are taking it seriously, and who really want it as compared to those who are merely paying lip service.

You have 48 hours left from now.

Selection of YGZ for JXY 2008

Hi all,

we know you are all very excited and very very eager to be part of this year's YGZ, and so are we.

As most of the officers have gone through this year's very tough Officers' Training Camp, and emerged leaders, we want to ensure that our YGZ for this year's JXY are absolutely ready for the challenge, and are up to it.

Through this method of YGZ selection, we are hoping to sieve out those who are mentally, physically and spiritually ready for the challenge that comes with being a YGZ, thus ensuring that we choose only the best instead of basing it on our opinions and understanding of you.

Please take this selection process seriously, as all of us are placing great hopes on you. Below is a link to the application form for this year's YGZ.

Hey everyone!!

Really hope all of you enjoyed yourselves today at the Recruitment activity. Sorry that the videos couldn't be played properly... but we really and truly hope that all of you had fun today.

Thank you for bringing your friends/siblings to the activity, coz without them, it wouldn't have been a Recruitment activity! Please continue to keep in contact with them, and ask them to join us on 14th June for Da Xing Kang Le....and hopefully, they come be part of our family soon! =D

Last but not least, here is very very very important information, so please take note.

Over the next couple of weeks, information concerning the selection of YGZ (camp facilitators) for this year's Jing Xiu Ying will be posted. It is absolutely vital that you check this blog as the information will only be up for a period of time. If you think you are ready to be a YGZ this year, then do not miss out on the information.

Officers' Training Camp

Well everyone, the Officers' Training Camp is finally over.

We, who have taken 3 months to plan for your camp, sincerely hope that all of you have brought a valuable lesson back with you. The camp may have ended, but that does not mean that your life as a Legionary has. We hope that you have brought home what we have taught you, and are living them out in every single day of your life as a son/daughter, a brother/sister, a student, and a Catholic.

The camp can only be considered successful if each and everyone of you continue to practise what you have learnt in your own personal lives.... and continue to light the hearts of everyone else around you with the spirit you have gained. Each of you have grown in your own way....do not stop growing...do not stop touching the lives of others.

Should any of you who have attended the camp still have other comments you would like to give us with regards to the camp, please do comment on the post.

As for photos, we guess that it is best if you request them for us. For we want what happened in the camp to remain confidential, for it is your experience, your story, and so, we will not be posting the photos.

Remember, the physical gifts you have taken home with you are symbolic and significant of what you have gone through in those 3 days. Yet, they are but mere symbols if you choose to discard everything you have learnt.......

A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships were built for.

New Year Celebration

Hey all, sorry for the much delayed post on CNY.

Your officers have been very very busy planning the officers' training camp for you guys. =)

Anyway, feedback on the event? Well, we think it is something new coz for once we weren't the ones planning it for you guys! And we were quite pleased with the turnout.
We guess it could have slightly more chinese new year feel to it...since after all, it is a Chinese New Year Celebration and not a Valentine's Day thing! And food wise, it was a new idea....but you guyz could have spent a bit more time planning what ingredients to buy, which item would go down better with the people coming, and used the money wisely (i.e. bread)...

Overall though...everyone seemed to have fun, so not a bad try.. =)

Remember, bring ALL items stated on the kit list only!
You are not supposed to leave the campsite during the duration of the camp.
Should you be arriving late on the first day, please inform us by 12th March, 5 pm. All other notifications will not be accepted.

We hope you will all benefit from the camp in the way we have planned, so prepare yourself spiritually, mentally, physically, and come with an open mind and heart.

Comments on Christmas Party 2007

Winter Wonderland!

Did you guys feel the mood and the atmosphere of the party? We sure did!

It was great to see so many of you turn up, coz it just goes to show how much you have bonded with one another through JXY, and how much you actually want to keep this friendships going!

Pet was happy to see so many of you still remembering the dance. =) All of us felt that this party was a far greater success than last year's party since so many of you made the extra effort to dress up for it, and because you guys had so much fun!

The photos will be uploaded in the Jumpcut account, so do check it out.

In the meantime, do post us your comments on the activity, with regards to the following questions and any other issues you might want to add!

Hi Everyone!

Greetings from your Curia Officers.

This is our very first post for our Legion Blog. Had wanted to start one quite long ago, but with no success.

So, as you can see from the Links on the side, you can link yourself from here to our Google Groups account, as well as our Jumpcut account, where you can get all the photos, which Pet is still busy uploading!!

We will be posting our comments on all our events and activities here, and you guyz can do your part by providing feedback to us through the comments part. For the tagboard, you can use it for conversational purposes between yourselves....so please don't leave any comments there ok?

Thanks a lot for being wonderful Legionaries for 2007! We do hope 2008 will be as great for everyone, if not better!!
